Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What if I do not know my child's Battle.net account name or password?
Our Account and Technical Services team will be able to help you recover access to the Battle.net account. Billing and Account Representatives are available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. PST, 7 days a week. For US, New Zealand, and Australian contact information, click here. In Europe, please use the contact information here.

What if I lose my Parental Controls access email?
You can request a new Parental Controls access email through the Parental Control page at http://us.battle.net/parents or by clicking here. This will send a new email to the Parental Controls e-mail address you first established. Please note that the link in the previous email will be invalid. If you can no longer access the Parental Controls e-mail address, please contact our Account and Technical Services department for assistance.

I was using an earlier version of World of Warcraft Parental Controls. Do I need to do anything now?
World of Warcraft Parental Controls are now a part of Battle.net Parental Controls. If you had already been using our previous World of Warcraft Parental Controls, you should have received an email (sent to the Parental Controls email address you established) containing a link to access the new Battle.net Parental Controls for your children's Battle.net account(s). While your previous Parental Controls settings automatically carry over, you may want to click the link(s) in that email to see what's new.

How do I set Parental Controls for more than one child?
If each child has his or her own Battle.net account, you will need to set up Parental Controls separately for each child. If you enter the same parental email address each time, you will receive an updated Parental Controls access email containing all of your children's links in one place – that way, you won't need to dig around for multiple emails when you want to change your children's settings.

I already had Parental Controls on my child's World of Warcraft account. How do I access the Parental Controls now?
If you previously used Parental Controls on a World of Warcraft account, the Battle.net account to which it is linked will inherit those controls. To gain access, visit the Parental Controls website and enter the registered Parental Controls email address or the email address your child uses to log in to World of Warcraft and Battle.net. Once you enter one of these email addresses, an email will be sent to the Parental Control email address with a link which will allow you access to modify the controls.

Play-Time Reports

NOTE: The play-time reports, limits, and schedules in Battle.net Parental Controls currently only work with World of Warcraft. We plan to add support for other Blizzard Entertainment games such as StarCraft II in the future.

What is a play-time report?
A play-time report is an email containing information on the amount of time played on a specific World of Warcraft account over the previous week, broken down by login and logout times so you can see when your child was playing the game. You can receive a play-time report even if you have not set up a play-time schedule or limits on the World of Warcraft account.

How do I receive play-time reports?
On the Parental Controls page (accessed through the email we sent you), confirm your time zone and check the box next to "Send my child's play-time report to…". Once you have done this you will receive a confirmation email at your Parental Controls email address, and a report will be sent the following week.

How do I stop receiving play-time reports?
At the bottom of each play-time report email is a link that will allow you to unsubscribe from these emails.
