Installing network card drivers

The next step is to make sure your drivers are loaded for your network card so that the network can function properly. In many cases, the operating system (OS) will automatically detect the Network Interface Card (NIC) and install the correct drivers for you. However, drivers from the manufacturer may be required. These can normally be found on the CD or floppy diskette provided with the network hardware. The network hardware manufacturer normally provides instructions on installing their drivers for each OS the NICs are supported under. If you cannot find the instructions and/or the drivers, please visit your network hardware manufacturer's website for assistance installing the appropriate drivers.
