What video cards are supported by Blizzard for the game?

Notes:

- First, please be certain that your video card meets the World of Warcraft/Burning Crusade System Requirements.  Please check the list of supported video cards on this page, and confirm that you have the latest drivers installed.  Continue reading for more information in regards to verifying this.

- To find out what video card, sound card, drivers and version of DirectX® you are currently using please visit our Driver Update Information page.

- The latest drivers for your card can often be found on the manufacturer's web site. You can click on the name of the manufacturer in the first column of the table below to go to their site.

- If your screen has wavy lines, is off center, or is experiencing other problems; try setting your monitor refresh rate manually.

- Although some customers may have success running the game with video cards listed as unsupported below, these cards may have serious graphical defects or simply keep the game from running at all. We do not offer support for getting the game to run on the cards listed as unsupported at this time.

- If your card is not listed at all then it is likely to be untested, it may still be able to play the game however providing you have up to date drivers available for the card.

- Please note that while many professional OpenGL workstation 3D video accelerators (Quadro series, Fire GL series) may be able to run the game, we only offer support for consumer level cards at this time.

- The game is highly dependent on the video adapter in your computer having up to date drivers installed. Please bear in mind that laptop computer manufacturers commonly do not update their drivers on a regular basis. Frequently, these manufacturers only supply drivers based on the drivers that the chipset manufacturer's were offering at approximately the same time the laptop was released. This means that laptops with older video cards (Geforce 2Go, ATI Radeon Mobility series, and Radeon IGP 300 series) that technically meet our system requirements will often be unable to run the game for lack of modern drivers. Trying to install the latest reference drivers from your laptop's video chipset manufacturer (ATI or nVidia, for example) will usually result in an error that advises you that the video chip installed is not supported, and installation will fail. Although it is possible to install these files by modifying the driver's .inf file or using unsupported third-party distributions of the drivers, this can cause serious display issues and we cannot recommend this strategy. Although it may be possible to run the game on a laptop or notebook computer, we will be unable to offer support for video related problems stemming from inconsistent driver implementations. We sincerely apologize if you are unable to run the game for this reason and advise contacting your laptop's manufacturer and requesting the release of a new driver package based on the latest reference drivers from the video chip manufacturer.
