When does Diablo 2 save my game?
Some players believe that saving and exiting is required in order to save a game. This is not true, Diablo II automatically saves at periodic intervals.
Notes:
- When you create a new game, all creatures respawn and you start in the beginning town of the Act your character was in when you exited your last game. Your quest log and waypoints will remain up to date, allowing you to warp to any waypoint you activated and continue your game.
- If a server crashes while you are attempting to retrieve your corpse, the corpse will be placed in town in future games.
When does Diablo II save?
- Your character is autosaved every five minutes.
- Your character is also saved any time any player leaves the game, as well as when you quit the game.
- Your character is saved if you are disconnected from your Internet connection, and it is also saved if your system crashes mid-game.
