Lock Ups & Kernel Panics with Diablo II and Lord of Destruction (MAC)
With ATI cards, this usually turns out to be a video card driver issue. As you know, applications can not crash Mac OS X. To do that, something has to occur at a lower level of the operating system. You may want to report this to Apple. You might also use the most recent ATI driver for Mac OS X. A June 2002 update was placed on their site recently.
What you should also check is that third party screen savers such as Seti@Home and Folding@Home are disabled before you play a game. If you still get the lock up, we recommend you play the game in Software mode until such a time as Apple or ATI are able to address the driver issue which causes this lock up.
