How do I associate an email address with my Battle.net account?
- Click
here for account registration information.
- If the game supports account recovery, you will be asked for your email address on your first connection to Battle.net.
- If you choose to forego registration, no further opportunities to associate an email address will occur. Please Note: If you do not register an email address and your password is lost or forgotten, Blizzard will be unable to assist you with the recovery of your account.
How do I recover my Battle.net account?
You must have an email address associated with your account in order to proceed. Once registered, your email address will be used to verify ownership of an account. The following steps detail the process:
- On the Battle.net logon screen, click the button labeled: "Account Settings"
- Click the button labeled "Get New Password"
- Enter the name of the account and the email address used during account registration and click: "Send"
- You will receive a confirmation screen.
- Check your email for a message from Battle.net. If a message does not appear within 24 hours, please try again or
contact technical support. Note: Technical support can assist in troubleshooting why you may not get the email however we are unable to manually recover a password.
- Once the message is received reply to the message with its original contents intact. Special Note: At no time during this process is any supplemental information required from you; once an email address is associated with your account Blizzard will not ask for any further information.
- After performing either of the actions in step #6, you will receive a confirmation message containing your new password. For security reasons, we strongly encourage you to change this password immediately.
- Log on and enjoy Battle.net!
How do I avoid losing my password again?
- Be sure to choose a good password so others are not able to guess it easily. Check our
Password Security page for more information.
- Check your system for viruses to prevent others from accessing your system. Check our
Computer Security page for more information.
What should I do if I receive an email I did not request from Account Recovery?
If you receive an un-requested email from account recovery, please forward the email to the "recovery abuse" address included in the password recovery email.
