Protecting your CD-Key

Most important rule for protecting your CD-Key.
Do not give your CD-Key to anyone, leave it where someone else can find it, or post it on the Internet.

Can my friend use my CD-Key?
We suggest you keep your CD-Key a secret. If someone else is using your CD-key and does something they should not they may get your CD-Key muted, restricted, or even banned from Battle.net.

This person on Battle.net told me they were work at Blizzard and that they needed my CD-Key, should I give it to them?
No! Blizzard Entertainment representatives will NOT ask for your CD-key over Battle.net. You can tell someone is a Blizzard Entertainment representative on Battle.net because they will have either a Blizzard logo or a blue cap and plate mail (depending on what game you are playing).

The seal on the box was broken or removed before I bought the game.
Much like a medicine bottle if the seal is broken or missing the contents may have been altered and you should not purchase this item. Please notify a store employee what happened.

Can I rent a Blizzard Entertainment game?
Blizzard Entertainment does not currently license games for people to take home and play. However there are cyber café's that license Blizzard Entertainment games and we do encourage you play at these licensed locations.

Can I lose my CD-Key by downloading hacks or add-on programs?
Yes. Using third party programs may introduce viruses that can steal your CD-Keys.
