Blizzard Entertainment Trademark usage Guidelines

BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT'S TRADEMARKS, TRADE NAMES, AND TRADE DRESS ARE VALUABLE ASSETS WHICH BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVELY PROTECTS.

When you use Blizzard Entertainment trademarks, in whole or in part, you are acknowledging that Blizzard Entertainment is the sole owner of the trademark, and agree that you will not in any way interfere with Blizzard Entertainment’s rights in the trademark. All goodwill derived from using any part of a Blizzard Entertainment trademark exclusively inures to the benefit of and belongs to Blizzard Entertainment.

With the exception of the limited right to use Blizzard Entertainment’s trademarks as permitted under these Guidelines, you understand and agree that no other rights of any kind are granted hereunder, by implication or otherwise.

The Proper Use of Blizzard Entertainment’s Trademarks

1. Trademarks are adjectives used to modify nouns; the noun is the generic name of a product or service.
2. As adjectives, trademarks may not be used in the plural or possessive form.
   
   Correct: I purchased two Blizzard games.
   Incorrect: I bought two of Blizzard’s games.
   
3. A generic term should appear after a Blizzard Entertainment trademark the first time it appears in a printed piece, and as often as is reasonable after that.
   
   Example: Diablo® III interactive game.

Appropriate Trademark Notice and Attribution

1. Always use the appropriate trademark symbol (TM, ®) the first time that a Blizzard Entertainment trademark appears in the text of your product communications, product documentation, products, etc. You should place the symbol at the right shoulder of the trademark.
   
   Example: Warcraft®
2. Always include a credit line acknowledging Blizzard Entertainment’s ownership of its trademarks within the credit notice section of your product communications, product documentation, and/or products, using the following format.
1. When your product communications, product documentation, and/or products use a registered trademark belonging to Blizzard Entertainment, use the following format:
   
   _______ is a trademark or registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., in the U.S. and/or other countries.
2. When the Blizzard Entertainment trademark is a common law trademark (i.e., “TM”), use the following format:
   
   _______ is a trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
3. When your product communications, product documentation, and/or products use both common law and registered trademarks belonging to Blizzard Entertainment, use the following format:
   
   _______ is a trademark, and _______ is a trademark or registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., in the U.S. and/or other countries.
